1935 Gleniffer DC3R's (Matched Pair)

Gleniffer DC3R - Year of Manufacture 1935

Engine current condition - Unrestored, Both turn but otherwise untested.

Recently arrived with us to ensure their future preservation is a matched pair of very rare Gleniffer DC3R marine diesel engines which were last run in 1971 (Engine Numbers 10544 & 10545). These were fitted new in 1935 to the vessel they were recently removed from. Producing 60hp @ 900rpm, These engines are currently air start (via air starter motor) and complete with their original 2:1 reduction gearboxes.

These engines are available to a genuine enthusiast as a pair or we may split if interest is shown by multiple parties for individual engines.

£POA Interested parties please contact us to discuss realistic preservation options.

1944 Lister JP3

Lister JP3 - Year of Manufacture 1944

Engine current condition - Fully restored, Immediately available.

Currently immediately available is this 1944 built Lister JP3. 27hp @ 1000rpm, This engine is an example of a Marine Power Services marine converted Lister JP3. Starting its life as an industrial version this engine has been totally restored and converted to marine specification.

The conversion to marine specification includes moving the flywheel to the correct end of the engine as per genuine marine Lister JP's, this allows us to mount a gearbox to the engine instead of on a remote plate like so many inferior conversions (Gearbox supplied on customer specification). This keeps the overall length of the engine down to a minimum enabling a shorter engine room. In fact our marine conversion come in at 4 inches (100mm) shorter than the original marine versions.

Another part of this conversion is the fitting of electric start, a Jabsco water pump and thermostatic temperature control, along with a full set of new wet manifolds as fitted to genuine marine Lister JP's, this includes the water cooled exhaust manifold, drum silencer and water outlet rail.

This engine is not just a standard industrial engine with the minimum plate mounted adaption to fit in a boat. This engine has been fully converted to the marine spec as Lister intended.

This engine can be supplied as engine only or with a choice of appropriate gearboxes and adaption kit.

Alternator crankshaft pulleys, alternators, and many other options also available

1959 Gardner 3LW

Gardner 3LW - Year of Manufacture 1959

Engine current condition - Partially Restored and marine converted (Awaiting Build Slot for completion)

Currently available is this 1959 built Gardner 3LW. 42hp @ 1300rpm, Originally a locomotive engine this engine is undergoing a total restoration and conversion to marine specification.

The conversion to marine specification includes the addition of electric start, fitting of a marine rear end exit exhaust manifold and the fitting of marine type engine mounting feet. The engine is also fitted with thermostatic temperature control.

On all our Gardner's the fuel equipment is reset to the appropriate speed and fueling settings as per the specification agreed with the customer. The myth that Gardner's smoke has been used for years by many people dealing with them to cover up an either badly worn or poorly set up engine. Even from cold the smoke shouldn't be excessive and should clear to only just visible within a few minutes of starting, this is why we painstakingly set all parameters to ensure our engines are as clean as they can be.

Also it is worth noting that unlike some other restorers all of our engines have the crankshafts reground and new bearings in every instance. Dont be fooled and settle for a lesser restoration, a Gardner with a badly worn bottom end will run happily with little to no signs of its internal condition until its too late.

This engine can be supplied as engine only or with a choice of appropriate gearboxes and adaption kit.

Alternator crankshaft pulleys, alternators, and many other options also available

£9985 (Fully Restored, Gearbox and optional extras available at additional cost)
