1936 Dorman 2RB

Engine current condition - Stripdown complete, awaiting approval for rebuild

This Dorman 2RB (36hp @ 1500rpm) was supplied new to the Motorail & Tramcar Company of Bedford and fitted into locomotive No 5713 Eagle. This locomotive was originally supplied to Staveley Coal and Iron Co. Ltd., for use in their Campbell Brickyard in Staveley, Derbyshire where it remained in service until 1968. Over the next 14 years the locomotive moved through a few owners before arriving with its current owners in 1982.

Now located on the Old Kiln Light Railway near Farnham, Surrey the locomotive is now undergoing restoration with the engine arriving with us to undergo the same before returning to its home for many more years of service.
